A Location is a Checklist for everything you need to consider at your locations and when making your production piece.
This includes;
- Things to take with you
- Talking to people
- Transport/access
- Camera/Lighting
- Sound
- Things for the director
- Food/accommodation
Things take you need to make sure you have a camera, a mobile phone, notebook, risk assessment forms, maps/directions, student ID card, Brief and the checklist its self.
Talking to people will include forms such as confirm ownership, exchange details, explain intensions, discuss fees/contract, Editorial policy, Passes, availability, timings, local events, dress codes, copyright issues, children's details.
Transport/access will include landmarks for directions, neighbour disturbance's, risk of trespass, internal access, vehicle access, toilets, traffic control needed? shelter, safety for hazards, tidal waters and boats/safety.
Camera/lighting you need to think about position of the sun if out doors, window directions, power supply, size of location, strobing, TV/computer screens, is floor level? secure place for kit, cables and smoke alarms or sprinklers.
When thinking about sound you need to think about traffic/roadworks, air craft, electrical hazards, schools, weather, background music, air conditional/fridges and wooden floors.
For the director you need to take photos, top shots, cutaways, background, events and additonal contributors.
Food/accommodation if needed you need to think about eating or hotels.
